Al-Qassam fighter Abdullah Malaka: Struggle until martyrdom and a delayed farewell

The family tells its story from a shelter room in the Zaytun neighborhood east of Gaza, where his father, Hajj Taysir Malaka (58 years old), describes the family's decision not to be forcibly displaced southward, saying: "The family made a historic, decisive, and irreversible decision to die with honor on the land and not to leave." The father adds that Abdullah was the pillar he leaned on in times of hardship. His mother, Manal Malaka (54 years old), recounts that he married and had two daughters who died consecutively months after their birth due to a genetic disease, and that Abdullah bought meals worth 1500 shekels and fed the fighters as a charity for his daughters' souls. Abdullah joined the Al-Qassam Brigades in his youth and was seriously injured in an armed clash with the occupation in the Zaytun neighborhood in 2014. Despite the leadership's decision to exempt him from field duties, he insisted on returning to fight until his martyrdom. He earned a bachelor's degree in police science and law from Al-Ummah University in Gaza. His brother Ahmed (29 years old) recounts how Abdullah supported him during his treatment journey in 2014. His brother Suhaib (19 years old) affirms that he joined medical school after scoring 98% in high school, vowing to his brother's soul to open a free clinic.
