Occupation besieges "Red Head" in the Jordan Valley and threatens to displace dozens of families
The Israeli occupation continues its tightened siege of the "Red Head" (Al-Ras Al-Ahmar) community in the northern Jordan Valley for 25 days, preventing the entry of water, fodder, and aid. The siege threatens the livelihoods of 47 families, pushing them towards two options: thirst, crop damage, and livestock death, or forced displacement. The restrictions include cutting water lines, destroying six wells, and threatening 15,000 head of sheep.
The Israeli occupation continues its tightened siege of the "Red Head" (Al-Ras Al-Ahmar) community in the northern Jordan Valley for about 25 days, preventing the entry of water tankers, fodder, and aid to residents and their livestock. The siege threatens the livelihoods of 47 families, placing them before two options: facing thirst, crop damage, and livestock death, or forced displacement. The restrictions include cutting water lines, closing entrances, preventing the entry of agricultural production supplies, and destroying about six water collection wells over the past two months. Farmer Mahmoud Bisharat said his crops of grapes, bananas, and figs have not been harvested since March, adding that a settler named Haim is behind the targeting of water lines. Community head Abdullah Bani Odeh said that 15,000 head of sheep have not received water or fodder for weeks, and 57 students have been prevented from reaching their schools. Activist Fares Faqha said the measures aim to push residents to leave, as part of the "Red Thread" settlement annexation project.
