"You Fell on the Wrong Minister": Ben Gvir's New Documentation from Prison | Watch

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir published footage from a visit he made to a prison in southern Israel, in which he confronts a terrorist who he claims planned to assassinate him. In the video, Ben Gvir threatens the terrorist that he will act to have him executed and makes clear that he intends to continue and toughen the incarceration conditions of security prisoners. The publication comes against the backdrop of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara's directive prohibiting the use of prison visits for election propaganda purposes.

National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir published this morning video documentation from a visit he made to a prison in southern Israel, in which he is seen confronting face to face a terrorist who he claims planned to assassinate him. In the video, Ben Gvir tells the terrorist: "You tried to kill me. You fell on the wrong minister. I am not afraid of you nor of a thousand more like you. And with God's help we will have you executed, you and one like you. You need to die, you need to die. You need to be killed by a hangman's rope with the death penalty." The publication comes against the backdrop of the directive by the Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to the Commissioner of the Israel Prison Service, prohibiting the use of visits to prisons and documentation of meetings with prisoners for election propaganda purposes. However, the documentation was filmed about a month ago, and not as part of a new visit held after the directive was given. The meeting was held against the backdrop of the policy of toughening the incarceration conditions of security prisoners that Ben Gvir has led since entering his position, and in parallel to his efforts to advance the death penalty for terrorists.
