Iris Haim, mother of Yotam Haim who was mistakenly shot by the IDF in Gaza along with Alon Shamriz and Samer Talalka in December 2023, points an accusing finger at Nitzan Alon, who was the director of the hostage affairs. In an interview with 103FM, she sharply criticizes Alon for never meeting with her or her family, and claims serious failures in handling intelligence information received before her son's death. According to her, an officer from the intelligence unit told her and her family that there was accurate information about the hostages' location, just days before their deaths. Later, a Hamas operative posing as a Canadian academic called her son, who reported it to the same officer. She claims the intelligence cell dismissed the information as deception and terrorist activity, and did not act on it. She demands that Alon look her in the eyes and tell the truth.
