More than 2 kg in a shipment from Thailand: the suspect arrived to collect and was arrested

A shipment from Thailand contained more than 2 kg of a substance suspected to be MDMB, concealed in bottles of printer liquid. Customs investigators at Ben Gurion Airport suspected the shipment, and in a joint investigation with the Central District's YMAR, they tracked the package to the Yad Binyamin area. A resident of Abu Ghosh was arrested when he came to collect it and claimed he was unaware of its contents. His detention was extended.

A shipment arriving from Thailand raised the suspicions of investigators from the Ben Gurion Airport Customs drug unit. Inside the bottles, disguised as liquid for printer ink production, more than 2 kg of a substance suspected to be the synthetic drug MDMB were found. The shipment was destined for a resident of Abu Ghosh. As part of a joint investigation with detectives from the Central District's YMAR, the detectives tracked the package until it reached the Yad Binyamin area. When the suspect arrived to collect it, he was arrested. During his interrogation, the suspect claimed he did not know the package contained drugs, and that a family member staying in Thailand had asked him to collect it on his behalf. The seized substance was sent for testing at the Israel Police forensic laboratories. The suspect was brought to court, which extended his detention. The investigation is ongoing.
