Centimeters away: How the shooting that ended in murder in Silwan began

An indictment was filed against two residents of East Jerusalem, Ouda and Alkram, for the murder of Hussein Dar Issa in Silwan. The conflict began after the cancellation of an engagement and escalated to close-range shooting. Ouda shot the victim in the back from a distance of about 11 meters. The two were located about two months later in a hideout apartment in Hebron.

According to the indictment, the conflict began after the cancellation of an engagement and escalated to violence. Upon arriving at the scene, Mustafa attacked the victim with kicks and brandished a knife at him. When Hassan tried to assist his brother, Mustafa attempted to stab him and wounded him in the hand. Later, while another person held Hassan from behind, Ouda fired at him from a distance of a few centimeters and hit him in the leg. After the victim heard the gunshot and began to flee, Ouda aimed the gun at his upper body and shot him in the back from a distance of about 11 meters, intending to kill him. As a result of the shooting, the victim died. Immediately afterward, Alkram picked up a cartridge that had been ejected from the gun and removed it from the scene. He then fled the scene in a vehicle with Mustafa, while the victim lay on the ground and his brother was injured. Ouda fled on foot. The two were on the run for about two months, until they were located on August 30 in a hideout apartment in Hebron. Ouda is charged with premeditated murder, aggravated assault, and carrying and transporting a weapon. Alkram is charged with obstruction of justice, aiding after the fact, and driving without a valid driver's license.
