Journalist, director, and television presenter Menashe Raz passed away today (Thursday) at the age of 80. Raz worked in Israeli media and documentary creation for about five decades. Details of his funeral have not yet been released. Raz was born in 1945. He began his media career during his military service on Galei Tzahal, where he served as a reporter and editor. After his service, he completed a bachelor's degree in philosophy and theater history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. In the 1970s, Raz joined the news department of Israeli television. During his years at the Israel Broadcasting Authority, he held a variety of journalistic and managerial roles: he anchored the main news edition "Mabat", served as a political correspondent, and edited and hosted the investigative program "Mabat Sheni". From 1989 to 1991, he served as director of Israeli television. Concurrently with his work at the Broadcasting Authority, Raz hosted the current affairs program "Erev Hadash" on Educational Television over the years. He also directed and created documentary films, including series and films dealing with historical and social topics. In later years, Raz continued to engage in teaching media and public activity.
