Eurovision runner-up Yuval Raphael will return to the Nova festival site in Re'im to perform at a memorial marking three years since the October 7, 2023, Hamas-led massacres. Raphael, who survived the attack by hiding in a bomb shelter under bodies for seven hours, described the return as 'very painful and even scary' but said it is 'the only and exact place where I want and need to be.' The event is organized by the families of those killed and the Nova Tribe Community Association, with other performers including Benaia Barabi, Ninet Tayeb, Amir Benayoun, and Shuli Rand. President Isaac Herzog is also expected to attend. The memorial focuses on the 378 people murdered at the Nova festival, the deadliest single site of the October 7 attacks, and 44 taken hostage. Both the Kumu and Nova memorial events will be held on Wednesday evening, the Gregorian calendar anniversary.
