7,000 missing in Gaza.. Families have not known the fate of their children for 3 years
The Palestinian Center for the Missing and Enforcedly Disappeared announces that the number of missing persons in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 7,000, including about 4,000 under the rubble and 2,500 forcibly disappeared, accusing the occupation authorities of using enforced disappearance as a systematic policy.
The Palestinian Center for the Missing and Enforcedly Disappeared announced that the crisis of missing persons in the Gaza Strip is entering its fourth year, with the number of missing persons exceeding 7,000. The center explained in a statement that about 4,000 missing persons are still under the rubble, while the number of forcibly disappeared exceeds 2,500. It pointed out that hundreds of people were lost near the border on October 7, 2023, including minors who went to watch the events. The center accused the occupation authorities of using enforced disappearance as a systematic policy and a tool for collective punishment, noting that cases of enforced disappearance continued even after the ceasefire announced on October 9, 2025. It added that the occupation refuses to disclose the names of detainees and returned hundreds of unidentified bodies without providing information about the circumstances of their death. The center affirmed that international laws and the Geneva Conventions guarantee families the right to know the fate of their children, warning of the worsening psychological and physical effects on their relatives. It demanded that the occupation authorities immediately disclose the fate of the missing and the names of detainees, and facilitate visits by international bodies, calling on the international community to establish an independent investigation mechanism.
