The Tax Authority published today (Tuesday) comprehensive data on the activity of the Compensation Fund (Property Tax) marking three years since the terrorist attack of October 7, 2023. The fund operated on two main fronts: first, compensation was paid for direct damage to buildings, vehicles, property, and infrastructure physically damaged by war operations, as well as payments for loss of rental income and funding for temporary hotel housing for evacuees. In total, about 168,000 direct damage claims were filed, and a sum of approximately 8.3 billion shekels was paid. On the second front, compensation was paid to businesses for indirect economic damage, including loss of profits, under nationwide, green, and red tracks. In total, about one million indirect damage claims were filed, and a sum of approximately 30 billion shekels was paid.
