Arab from the Galilee who carried out missions for a hostile entity in Lebanon caught red-handed

The Shin Bet and Lahav 433's Yachbal unit arrested Hamdan Hamdan, a 32-year-old resident of Majd al-Krum, on suspicion of contact with a Lebanese agent and carrying out security missions in exchange for purchasing goods. The Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Yachbal unit of Lahav 433 arrested Hamdan Hamdan, a 32-year-old resident of Majd al-Krum, on suspicion of committing serious security offenses including contact with a foreign agent and carrying out missions under his direction. Investigation findings reveal that over several months, Hamdan maintained direct and continuous contact with a foreign female agent from Lebanon, fully aware of her identity and affiliation with an enemy state. At her instruction, he was asked to carry out security missions within Israeli territory, and in return, the foreign entity purchased products in Israel and transferred them to him. The investigation was accompanied by the Haifa District Attorney's Office, which built an evidentiary infrastructure ahead of filing a serious indictment this coming Sunday. Police and Shin Bet emphasized the severity of the phenomenon and warned against contact with hostile elements, noting that intelligence and terror groups, led by Hezbollah, continue efforts to recruit Israelis for espionage and terrorism even during the current war, including through social media approaches. His arrest joins a series of thwarted attempts to recruit and activate Israeli citizens for intelligence gathering, mapping sensitive sites, and carrying out sabotage operations.
