According to Dayan, after that date Trump will move from the 'political phase' to the 'legacy phase' of his term, during which he will be more open to making significant decisions. Ahead of his upcoming meeting with Gulf state leaders, Trump is expected to hear opposing positions: Qatar wants a quick end to the war, while the United Arab Emirates supports decisive action against Iran. Dayan explained that Iranian pressure on Saudi Arabia stems from an attempt to influence Washington through the energy market, by raising oil prices to harm Trump. He added that Trump has not yet decided whether he wants to be 'the emperor' or 'a Nobel Peace Prize laureate.'
