YouTube decided to fight one of the most annoying phenomena
YouTube announces the labeling of songs created with artificial intelligence in the YouTube Music app, aiming to restore transparency for listeners and combat the phenomenon of voice cloning and computer-generated songs.
YouTube has announced a significant step in the fight against the phenomenon of songs created with artificial intelligence. Starting this week, the YouTube Music app will begin marking songs produced using AI tools with a prominent identification tag under the letters 'AI' on the main player screen. The tag will appear below the song name and next to the artist's name, allowing listeners to immediately know if the work is synthetic. Clicking on the tag will open an explanation panel called 'How This Was Created', detailing the production method and including a link to an official information page. The company does not rely solely on content uploaders' declarations but uses technological identification tools such as digital watermarks and works in collaboration with record labels. The move has begun a gradual rollout to YouTube Music users worldwide and is expected to expand later to the regular YouTube app.
