Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited today (Thursday) the area where the new security barrier is being built on the eastern border, near Kibbutz Masada in the Jordan Valley. During the tour, Netanyahu presented the plan to strengthen defense along the border, which includes a barrier stretching from the Yarmouk to Eilat, along with the deployment of IDF forces and systems to deal with threats including drones. "We are surrounding the State of Israel with a giant barrier," Netanyahu said, and warned: "Don't test us." The tour was attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz, Head of the Borders and Seam Administration Major General Eran Ofir, Commander of Division 96 Brigadier General Oren Simha, and other commanders. Netanyahu received a briefing on the work and efforts to thicken the defense array on the eastern border. According to him, the barrier is an addition to the security zones in Lebanon, Syria, and the Gaza Strip. Minister Katz emphasized that the defense comes as an addition to a proactive offensive policy led by Netanyahu, against distant Iran and nearby threats.
