Your People Israel respond to Netanyahu: "He knows we are not in his pocket"

The "Your People Israel" party, led by reserve Major General Ofer Winter, responds sharply to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sharing an advertisement against them. The party claims Netanyahu is "echoing fake news" and accuses the campaign of being designed to weaken their power ahead of the elections, while stating its true goal is to bring Gadi Eisenkot to the position of Defense Minister.

The political confrontation between Likud and the "Your People Israel" party, led by reserve Major General Ofer Winter, continues to escalate. After Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shared an advertisement against the party and warned right-wing voters against it, "Your People Israel" responded sharply today (Sunday), accusing Netanyahu of echoing false information as part of a political campaign against them. The party's statement said, "When we thought we had hit rock bottom with the campaign against Yosef Haddad, Lali Deri, and other party members, comes another echo of fake news by the Prime Minister." They further claimed that the advertisement had already been corrected on the site where it was published, but "the Prime Minister did not even bother to check." The party wondered why, in their view, Likud is focusing its efforts specifically on them. "Let the simple citizen ask himself, why is Likud investing so many resources to thwart one party?" the statement read. "The answer is that Likud knows that Your People Israel is strong. He knows we are not in the Prime Minister's pocket, that we cannot be bought for a mess of pottage." "Your People Israel" added that the goal of the attacks against them is political, and that "all the enormous investment in echoing fake news is intended to bring Gadi Eisenkot to the position of Defense Minister." They further claimed that their party seeks to lead a series of measures, including integrating Haredim into the IDF, encouraging voluntary emigration, and decisively confronting terrorism, which they say have not been advanced by the current government. The response comes after the confrontation between the sides intensified in recent days, following Winter's remarks in an interview where he stated he would not join any government under any conditions. Likud compared him to Naftali Bennett, and Netanyahu himself called on right-wing voters not to "gamble" on new parties.
