AirAdvisor has published a ranking of the 20 safest airlines in Europe. For the second consecutive year, Greek Aegean Airlines takes first place with 89 points out of 100. In second place is Irish low-cost carrier Ryanair (86 points), which had two incidents in 2023 without casualties: a failure of the front landing gear during landing in Dublin and a collision with a service vehicle at London Stansted. Third place went to Austrian Airlines (85.5 points), which recently resumed flights to Israel. Next are Norwegian (85) and SunExpress (84.5). The ranking includes both traditional carriers and low-cost airlines; the average score for traditional companies is 82.8, for low-cost carriers 79.2. AirAdvisor founder Anton Radchenko noted that the age of the aircraft itself is not an indicator of safety. The ranking is based on the company's own criteria and is not official.
