Ofer Winter, chairman of the 'Amcha Yisrael' party, responded to the uproar surrounding the public hug he gave to 'Yashar' chairman Gadi Eisenkot during the "Weekend" program on i24NEWS. Winter wrote: "I hear there are attacks and harsh words against me for daring to hug Gadi Eisenkot yesterday on i24NEWS... There is a deep ideological disagreement between me and Gadi Eisenkot, and I have serious grievances against his policy of containment, but he is not my enemy." He called out: "Enough with this hatred, enough with these boycotts - not everything is politics, there is also a people here that needs healing, and we as leaders must be the first to set an example." In an interview last night, Winter clarified that he would not sit in a government led by Eisenkot, emphasizing that he is in the national camp. The event takes place three days before the Knesset elections.
