Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf issued a sharp threat this morning (Sunday) toward Israel and the United States, declaring that his country is prepared to respond forcefully to any attack on its territory. In his speech to parliament, Ghalibaf attacked Israel and the US and made clear that threats of a broad war will not make Tehran give up its rights. According to him, any attempt to harm Iran's sovereignty will be met with a response that the enemies cannot imagine. Ghalibaf claimed that the United States is the one that got entangled in a war against Iran due to miscalculations, and that Washington bears the responsibility to take steps to extricate itself from the situation. Alongside the threats, Ghalibaf addressed Iran's economic crisis and admitted that rising prices are placing a heavy burden on citizens, especially the weaker segments of society.
