A 40-year-old man was moderately injured after being bitten by a dog in Kiryat Tivon. MDA teams evacuated him to Rambam Hospital with bite marks on his limbs. It will be checked if the dog is infected with rabies. The incident joins a series of reports of animals infected with rabies in recent days, including a suspected infected cat in Kfar Mashhad, an infected jackal in Kfar Blum, an infected dog in Maagan Michael, and an infected fox in Kokhav Yair. Meanwhile, a four-year-old boy is hospitalized in a hospital in Jenin in critical condition after being bitten by a dog and contracting rabies. The boy is sedated and ventilated, and saliva tests and a skin biopsy were positive for rabies. The wound was treated and sutured, but no rabies vaccine was given. Dr. Michael Ettinger, chairman of the Organization of Veterinary Doctors, warned that treating the wound does not prevent rabies, and emphasized the need for immediate washing and contacting the health bureau or emergency room.
