Expected to be court-martialed in the IDF: the story with the Likud ballot slip that entangled the singer | First publication

Singer Maya Dadon is expected to face a military trial in the IDF after posting a story on election day in which she posed in uniform next to a Likud ballot slip. Dadon deleted the image minutes after posting, but the IDF intends to prosecute her.

Singer Maya Dadon is expected to face a military trial in the IDF following a story she posted on election day, in which she posed in uniform at a polling station next to a Likud ballot slip bearing the letters "Machl." Dadon published the image with the caption: "Go out and vote, every vote counts!!" Within minutes, she deleted the story and uploaded another image, in which the Likud ballot slip no longer appeared. However, the deletion did not prevent the entanglement: the IDF intends to court-martial the singer for the publication, which showed her in uniform alongside a political party ballot. IDF Spokesperson's response: "The documented soldier is expected to be tried according to orders. The IDF is a state and apolitical army. It is strictly forbidden to use the IDF, its uniforms, or its symbols for political purposes, including on social media and introducing political content into service frameworks."
