Washington is sure it is strangling the ayatollahs, but in Iran they are already preparing for victory

A Foreign Affairs analysis reveals that, contrary to Washington's sense of confidence, Iran's leadership has no intention of surrendering. The regime sees an opportunity for a strategic victory over the United States, amid an unprecedented wave of nationalism among the Iranian public, counter-economic warfare and attacks on American bases and its allies.

An analysis published in Foreign Affairs magazine reveals a picture different from the sense in Washington that the bombings and economic siege have pushed Iran into a corner. According to the report, Iran's leadership is far from surrender and sees itself on the way to a strategic victory over the United States. President Trump's threats to destroy the country, together with harm to civilians, have stirred an unprecedented wave of nationalism in Iran, even among veteran opponents of the regime. The local economy, planned in advance to withstand economic warfare, manages to supply basic food needs. Tehran continues to attack American bases in Jordan, Syria and the Persian Gulf, and conducts counter-economic warfare by striking energy facilities in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, alongside Houthi attacks in the Red Sea. In Tehran they look with satisfaction at the warm reception given to the country's representatives at the BRICS summit and the Shanghai organization. It seems the regime and its citizens are ready to absorb economic pain and a blood price as long as they come out on top.
