At least 13 people were killed and ten wounded in a Russian attack on the central railway station in Dnipro, central Ukraine. According to Ukrainian authorities, a Russian jet-powered drone struck the platform where two passenger trains were standing, as passengers waited to depart. The national railway company reported that the attack occurred as passenger train No. 866, scheduled to depart from Dnipro to Zaporizhzhia, stood near the platform. The head of the regional military administration, Oleksandr Henzha, initially confirmed five wounded and later updated the toll to 13 dead. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, calling it a "horrific attack." The mayor of Dnipro, Borys Filatov, said the drone hit a civilian electric train and called for describing the attacks explicitly as a "war of extermination." The attack adds to a series of Russian strikes on the Ukrainian railway network in recent months. According to railway company data, since the beginning of 2026, hundreds of carriages and locomotives and dozens of railway stations have been damaged.
