After about two years of disputes: fuel companies will be required to clear the way for the expansion of the coastal railway line
The Infrastructure Coordination Committee has ruled in the dispute between Israel Railways and the fuel companies KCA and TSA, ordering the signing of implementation agreements within 30 days to relocate fuel lines for the expansion of the coastal railway line, even without settling land rights or financial disputes.
The Infrastructure Coordination Committee at the Ministry of Finance ruled today (Thursday) in the dispute between Israel Railways and the fuel companies KCA and TSA, ordering the advancement of relocating fuel lines for the expansion of the coastal railway line. The decision stipulates that the parties will sign implementation agreements within 30 days, even if all rights to the alternative land have not been settled or financial disputes resolved. The dispute centered on the TAML 65a plan, approved in December 2023, which requires the relocation of fuel lines passing through the route designated for railway works. The committee rejected KCA's claim that it lacked authority to decide on the dispute, ruling that the public interest justifies intervention. However, additional disputes remain open, including TSA's demand for additional payments for engineering management and supervision, and responsibility for testing contaminated soil. The committee did not rule on these issues and ordered them to be brought to a separate decision. Director General of the Ministry of Finance, Israel Malachi, who heads the committee, stated that the action was taken out of a perception of utmost importance in removing barriers and accelerating national projects.
