Rosen served as the manager of the Afula branch and is charged with theft, fraud, money laundering, and securities offenses. The prosecution is requesting his detention until the end of proceedings.
An indictment was filed today (Thursday) at the Tel Aviv District Court against Eyal Rosen, after he was extradited from Portugal about a week ago, four years after leaving the country. Rosen served as the manager of the Afula branch of the non-bank credit company Gibui Holdings. He is charged with stealing NIS 9 million in dozens of cases, obtaining something by fraud under aggravated circumstances, false registration in corporate documents, fraud and breach of trust in a corporation, money laundering, and securities offenses. According to the indictment, between October 2020 and September 2020, Rosen exploited his position in the company and his relationships with clients to steal funds while disguising the acts as routine credit activity. The funds were used to purchase company shares and finance business activities of companies he owned. The prosecution is seeking to detain Rosen until the end of proceedings due to flight risk, based on his departure from Israel in 2022 shortly after the investigation began. During his interrogation, Rosen admitted he was aware of the investigation and claimed he was engaged in business activities abroad.
