"They long for it": Yair Golan reveals - this is the message he received from world leaders
Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan called on parties that may form the next government to commit not to sit with the ultra-Orthodox parties, and intensified his criticism of Netanyahu. At a conference at Reichman University, he claimed that Hamas is rebuilding its strength, and that replacing the government would bring about a rapid change in Israel's international standing, based on messages he received from leaders in the region and beyond.
Democratic Party chairman Yair Golan spoke at the International Conference on Counter-Terrorism at Reichman University and attacked the government's policy in the Gaza Strip. Golan claimed that Hamas is rebuilding its strength "intensively," and that replacing the government could quickly bring about a change in Israel's international standing. He called on the heads of parties that may be partners in the next government to commit not to sit with the ultra-Orthodox parties: "I call on all my future coalition partners to declare today: we will not sit with the ultra-Orthodox in the next government. Period. Simple and clear." Referring to the deterioration in Israel's international standing, Golan said that in his assessment the change could be rapid with the replacement of the government, based on conversations he held with leaders in Jordan, the Emirates, Egypt, France, the US, and England. According to him, the leaders "long for, yearn to see a different leadership in Israel that returns Israel to what they knew in the past."
