You'll Be Surprised: Adams' Plan to Combat Anti-Semitism Will Fund an Anti-Israeli Organization

New York City Mayor Eric Adams launched a $30 million citywide plan to combat anti-Semitism, which includes funding for anti-Israeli organizations, including the Arab-American Association of New York. Jewish leaders in the city are demanding the plan be scrapped and rewritten, after the document omitted any mention of Zionism and Israel.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams launched a $30 million citywide plan to combat anti-Semitism, but the revelation of its details is sparking outrage among the Jewish community. As part of the plan, funding for the city's P.A.T.H (Partners Against Hate) grant project was doubled to $6.4 million, part of which will go to organizations that have openly acted against Israel. The prominent beneficiary is the Arab-American Association of New York, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit run by Linda Sarsour, a radical pro-Palestinian activist and Adams' political mentor. The organization supported the anti-Israeli protests at Columbia University and demonstrations across the city since the outbreak of the Iron Swords War. According to OpenTheBooks, the nonprofit received $3.3 million in city funds between 2017 and 2024. More than two dozen Jewish leaders protested the plan and called for its cancellation, after the document completely omitted the term 'Zionism' and mentioned Israel only tangentially. Meanwhile, Adams is under attack from his own radical supporters, who are organizing a protest against him on the third anniversary of the October 7 massacre, claiming he 'betrayed' the Palestinian struggle.
