Guy Maroz, a panelist on the program 'The Patriots' on Channel 14, shared today (Tuesday) in a moving ceremony his participation in writing a letter in a Torah scroll. The Torah scroll was dedicated to the memory of all those murdered in the October 7 massacre. Maroz wrote with his characteristic humor about the change he has undergone since joining the channel: 'A year and a half on Channel 14 – I laid tefillin for the first time in my life and now I'm writing a letter in a Torah scroll. I must stop this Torah deterioration!' During the writing, together with a scribe, Maroz asked if he could take his hand out, and received a negative answer. The warm online reactions included encouragement like 'Yasher koach', 'Ashrecha!' and 'In the end you'll do complete repentance.' Just a few months ago, Maroz laid tefillin for the first time in his life alongside Minister Itamar Ben Gvir in Hebron, and before that he affixed a mezuzah in his new home. At the tefillin-laying event, which went viral, he had to improvise a kippah from a bicycle helmet.
