It is Israel's sixth submarine and the third in the Dolphin AIP series—an improved submarine that allows for longer underwater stays without needing to surface for air. The voyage from Germany to our region in the Mediterranean was conducted under heavy security—initially upon departure from Germany and subsequently during the voyage in the Mediterranean at sea depths under secrecy, with the understanding that several countries, such as Turkey, Russia, and China, would attempt to intercept and examine any piece of information they could obtain about it. The issue of advanced weaponry has never been officially confirmed by Israel. According to foreign reports, Israeli submarines have the capability to carry nuclear weapons—doomsday weapons—should Israel face an existential attack. Upon the arrival of the Dragon submarine this week, an official ceremony will be held at the Haifa naval base.
