The French news agency (AFP) reported that Iranian experts from the Revolutionary Guard visited the Bab el-Mandeb Strait area to oversee tunnel digging and radar installation work, assisting the Houthis. The report, citing two Houthi military sources, comes after the Houthis attacked the Saudi capital Riyadh for the first time over the weekend. The attack triggered alarms in the city and smoke near the local airport. Senior Houthi official Hazam al-Asad threatened that "the big attack is still ahead of us" and accused Saudi Arabia of continuing attacks in Yemen. The escalation comes amid expanding Houthi control along the Yemeni coastline, allowing them to influence traffic in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. Saudi Arabia has turned to its allies requesting assistance with air defense due to concerns over its dwindling interceptor missile stockpile. Sources in the Yemeni government claimed that the Revolutionary Guard assisted the Houthis in capturing the territory.
