The Israeli weapon used in Iran - and soon to be launched from F-35 jets

Rafael is completing the integration of SPICE 1000 munitions into F-35 jets, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin. The munition, already used in Iran from F-15 and F-16 aircraft, is expected to be available for Israeli stealth jets within months. The project may open procurement possibilities for additional countries.

Rafael is currently integrating, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, the SPICE 1000 munition into the F-35 fighter jet at its facilities in the United States. The project is expected to be completed within a few months, after which the Israeli Air Force will be able to use the munition from its F-35 jets as well. The integration may open procurement possibilities for additional countries operating the aircraft. SPICE 1000 is an autonomous air-to-ground munition for striking fixed and strategic targets at ranges exceeding 120 km, equipped with an electro-optical seeker and navigated using image-matching algorithms. The munition has been in use by the Israeli Air Force for several years, and according to Rafael, it has been used extensively in operations in Iran, where it was deployed from F-15 and F-16 aircraft. SPICE 1000 is part of the SPICE family, which includes systems in three weight classes and ranges of up to 120 km, and has previously won the Israel Security Award.
