The Petah Tikva Magistrate's Court approved a financial settlement in a lawsuit filed by Nechama Gabai against Shaul Alkrib and his wife Tova. Gabai sued for 1.17 million shekels, claiming that Alkrib, presented as a rabbi and kabbalist, exploited her distress and the trust she placed in him to obtain money from her. According to the lawsuit, between February and March 2022, Gabai transferred a cumulative sum of 745,467 shekels to the couple, most of it from the sale of her apartment during her divorce. Alkrib accompanied her to the bank, presented himself as her father, and reassured her that her lawyer was aware of the transfers. The money was transferred in several installments to various accounts and in cash. Gabai hid the transfers from her family members until the end of 2025, when she fell into financial distress. Under the settlement, the Alkrib couple will pay 830,000 shekels.
