An indictment was filed at the Nazareth Magistrate's Court against a resident of the Emekim region, a 41-year-old father of four, for severely assaulting his wife, aged 33, and threatening her life. According to the indictment, the man punched his wife, slammed her head into the wall and floor, strangled her, and beat her with a stick until she collapsed. The woman was injured all over her body and required medical treatment at the hospital. The assault occurred about two weeks ago, in the evening, when the defendant entered the room of their young daughter, where his wife was staying, and punched her in the eye and forehead. When the woman asked him why he was doing this, the defendant slammed her head into the wall several times and strangled her with both hands. Later, when she tried to flee from him, he pushed her and slammed her head into the floor. The woman managed to escape to the bedroom of two of her children and tried to use one of their phones to call her father. But her husband chased her and began hitting her on the head and hand with a stick. She tried to flee again, to the shared bedroom, but the defendant followed her. "You're calling your father, you bitch?" he said to her, according to the indictment, and continued to beat her on the head with the stick, over and over, until she collapsed on the floor. As a result of the assault, the woman suffered severe injuries, including a bleeding cut on her head, bruises, swelling, and blue marks on various parts of her body. She was evacuated for medical treatment at the hospital. During the investigation, it emerged that about a month earlier, the woman had asked to remove her name from the joint bank account, and in response, her husband threatened to murder her and that no one would be able to find her body. The Family Unit officer in the Emekim district, Chief Inspector Avishag Kasa, said that the woman cooperated with the investigators and even agreed to confront him during the investigation.
