An indictment was filed against a 35-year-old resident of Tiberias who jumped from his balcony to his neighbor's balcony and hurled a stone at the head of her partner. The incident occurred in front of police officers who were investigating the woman for violating a restraining order. The defendant claimed his motives were religious.

An indictment was filed this morning (Sunday) at the Tiberias Magistrate's Court against a 35-year-old city resident for assault causing actual bodily harm. According to the indictment, he jumped from his balcony to his neighbor's balcony, armed with a stone, and hurled it at the head of her partner. The incident occurred on October 21, while police arrived at the woman's apartment following a report of a violation of an order barring her current partner from approaching her children. The defendant confessed to the act and claimed he was furious that the neighbor was in a relationship while separated, stating the motive was religious: "This is not acceptable to me or to Rabbi Nachman, it is forbidden by the Torah. If I had the chance, I would have killed him too." His attorney, Yuval Zulti from the Public Defender's Office, said he has no criminal record and requested his release in the coming days.
