Levin, former head of the Gastroenterology and Pediatric Nutrition Unit at Wolfson Medical Center, was convicted under a plea deal of raping a patient's mother, committing indecent acts against two patients, and abusing his position of authority. He was sentenced to six years in actual prison, less than half of the 13 years sought by the prosecution. Tal recounts that Levin treated her since childhood, and at age 12 began committing sexual acts against her that continued for four years. She filed a complaint at an older age, leading to an investigation and the identification of additional women. According to her, "Every year he spends in prison is a victory for me because he won't harm other women and girls." Levin will pay 750,000 shekels in compensation to the victims and has agreed to stop practicing medicine. Attorney Mia Engelbaum criticized the sentence, arguing that such cases undermine victims' trust in the system.
