The cards are reshuffled: CAF's new partner for metro tenders

Dan, Danya Sibus, and Spanish CAF have announced a partnership to compete in the Metro's Infra 2 tenders, valued at approximately NIS 30 billion. CAF chose Dan and Danya over its long-time partner Shapir Engineering, a move that signals a reshuffling of the deck in the railway industry.

Dan, Danya Sibus, and Spanish CAF have announced a joint partnership to compete in the second phase (Infra 2) tenders of the Metro project, with an estimated value of around NIS 30 billion. The new partnership marks a shake-up in the transportation infrastructure industry, as CAF chose Dan and Danya over its long-standing partnership with Shapir Engineering in light rail projects. According to the agreement, CAF will carry out work valued at approximately half of the construction works, and in the construction partnership, Danya will hold 75% and Dan 25%. Dan will lead the operation and maintenance company with 70%, alongside CAF (20%) and Danya (10%). The Infra 2 tenders deal with railway systems, carriages, signaling, electricity, and operation, unlike Infra 1 which focused on civil works. NTA aims to operate driverless trains using GOA4 technology. The tender results are expected to be published in about a year.
