Lili Deri, a candidate for the 'Amcha Yisrael' party, responded today (Wednesday) to harsh criticism from the right regarding the party's run that caused 'vote burning', despite knowing it would not pass the electoral threshold. In a post she published, Deri refused to apologize and chose to respond cynically with a list of 'apologies' reflecting her political platform: "Sorry we wanted to bring a different discourse to Israeli politics, a discourse that sees the people as a whole and not the 'blocs'", "Sorry we demanded a swift and decisive defeat of the enemy", "Sorry we demanded sovereignty in all parts of our land." She concluded the post with a call for Zionist unity. Party chairman Ofer Winter also refused to take responsibility for the risk of forming a left-wing government, stating that the political struggle is long-term.
