Tali Gottlieb: What will be revealed in court will send you to prison

MK Tali Gottlieb sharply responded to former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar's intention to file a defamation lawsuit against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Gottlieb accused Bar of "mutiny and coup" and claimed that facts revealed in court would send him to prison. She also alleged that Bar did not inform Netanyahu of suspicions regarding an attack on two kibbutzim.

MK Tali Gottlieb on Tuesday sharply criticized former Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar after he announced his intention to file a defamation lawsuit against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Bar claims he warned Netanyahu of the threat before October 7, but the prime minister ignored his warnings. As part of the potential legal proceedings, Bar intends to demand the disclosure of documents and information about what intelligence was provided to the prime minister before the attack. Gottlieb harshly criticized Bar, stating: "Dangerous, deceitful, and subversive Ronen Bar threatens to file a defamation lawsuit against the prime minister. Go ahead. Please, hurry up. Because what will be revealed in court will send you and others to prison! People are only now starting to repeat what I have been shouting for three years." Gottlieb further claimed that, according to her version of events, the former Shin Bet chief, together with the army leadership, carried out a "mutiny and coup" against the prime minister on the eve of the October events. She accused Bar of being busy trying to shift responsibility for the October 7 failures while Netanyahu was waging war on multiple fronts. According to Gottlieb, Bar sought to blame the prime minister for the failure. She also alleged that the former Shin Bet chief did not inform Netanyahu of suspicions regarding a possible attack on two kibbutzim, thereby preventing the prime minister from taking timely measures to save Israeli citizens. Gottlieb also called on Bar to apologize to Israeli citizens for his role in the October 7 events. She stated that she has not forgotten "the screams of murdered men and women," the waiting for the army, which she said did not arrive in time, and the planes that also did not come. Separately, the MK mentioned the hostages held by Hamas and the fighters of the Yamam special unit. According to her, the fighters requested air support but did not receive it. She also accused Bar of conspiring with Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara against National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir. According to Gottlieb, the goal was to hinder the work of the right-wing government. In conclusion, the MK again addressed the former Shin Bet chief regarding his intention to sue Netanyahu: "Ronen Bar, you dare to threaten a lawsuit against the prime minister. The 'Kastner trial' will seem small compared to what will be revealed in this court."
