After the closure order: Medica responds to the serious allegations

The Ministry of Health ordered yesterday (Monday, September 28, 2026) the cessation of all medical activity at the Medica Tel Aviv center in Ramat Hahayal, following severe findings from a surprise inspection conducted at the site last Thursday. The inspection revealed cases where medical procedures were performed in violation of professional authority and mandatory instructions, alongside deficiencies in operating room management. The Ministry determined that the totality of findings indicates a systemic failure and that continued activity poses a serious and immediate danger to patient health. The district physician issued a cessation order, which took effect yesterday. The management of the Medica network, the owners, and board members will be summoned for a hearing, and the Ministry is considering personal measures against staff members. This is the second such incident within a few months: in July 2026, the Ministry ordered an immediate halt to operating room activity at Medica Rafael, after similar deficiencies were found. Operating room activity there resumed gradually in early August. In a response delivered today (Tuesday) by the management of Medica Tel Aviv, it was stated that all medical procedures are performed by doctors and in accordance with the law, and that the inspection referred to isolated cases. The cessation order remains in effect.
