A resident of Baqa al-Gharbiyye was arrested on suspicion of filing a false report with the police, claiming that her husband threatened her and intended to carry out an attack. Following the report, many forces were dispatched and operational and technological measures were activated until the husband was located and arrested. The incident began yesterday, after the woman approached the police and claimed that an immediate danger was posed by her husband. Due to the severity of the report and concern for public safety, the Baqa al-Gharbiyye police station opened an accelerated investigation. However, later in the investigation it emerged that the couple is involved in a family dispute related to divorce proceedings. According to the police, checks conducted ruled out any security intent on the part of the husband, and simultaneously the suspicion that the woman had filed a false report strengthened. Following the findings, the woman was arrested for questioning and subsequently imprisoned. The police are expected to request an extension of her detention from the court, among other reasons due to the deployment of forces and the use of operational resources following the report. The husband was also arrested and questioned on suspicion of threats.
