No one is talking about them: The unsung heroes of the terror flight
Two Flydubai pilots, traveling as passengers on the terror flight, took control of the plane after the co-pilot attacked the captain. They stabilized the aircraft from a steep dive and landed it in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. Their identities have not yet been released by the company, and they have remained out of the spotlight, unlike other heroes of the incident.
Two pilots from Flydubai, traveling as passengers on the terror flight to Israel, became unsung heroes after taking control of the plane at a critical moment. The co-pilot attacked the captain, and the aircraft entered a dive. Passengers subdued the attacker, and the injured captain opened the cockpit door. One of the pilots, seated among the passengers, jumped over the people holding the attacker, entered the cockpit, and took control. Shortly after, the second pilot joined him, and they locked the door. They stabilized the plane after the dive, broadcast a Mayday call, and searched for a nearby landing destination. After about 45 minutes of uncertainty, during which passengers feared the plane was being flown to Iran, the pilots announced they were landing in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. The two were flying under an aviation practice known as deadheading, where crew members are transported as passengers to a destination from which they will operate another flight. They were supposed to fly the plane back from Tel Aviv to Dubai. Flydubai has not yet released their names or further details, and they have remained out of the spotlight, while the stories of Captain Smith from Czech and the Israelis Yaniv Hayon and Assaf Rajuan have already been revealed. A passenger on the flight said: "We owe them our lives no less than the other heroes who were on the flight."
