Settlers burn two vehicles and spray racist slogans in 'Atara, Ramallah

Settlers burned two vehicles in the village of 'Atara north of Ramallah early Thursday and sprayed racist slogans on residents' property before withdrawing. The attack coincided with settlement activities in Khirbet Tarfin, where settlers established an outpost and seized land. The number of settler attacks since the beginning of the year has reached 4,357, exceeding the total for 2025.

Settlers burned two vehicles in the village of 'Atara north of Ramallah early Thursday and sprayed racist and hostile slogans on residents' property before withdrawing. Local sources reported that the group set fire to the vehicles and then began writing slogans, in a new attack within a series of escalating settler attacks. The attack coincided with continued settlement activities in Khirbet Tarfin, part of 'Atara, where settlers established an outpost and seized land, and began paving a road toward the outpost at the start of the year. In July of last year, settlers seized a home in 'Atara after an assault involving beatings and detention. The burning of the vehicles came hours after settlers set fire to land near residents' homes in the village of Burqa east of Ramallah on Wednesday evening. According to the Palestine Information Center 'Muat', the number of settler attacks since the beginning of the year has reached 4,357, exceeding the total for 2025 which was 3,818 attacks. The peak of attacks reached 628, resulting in 164 injuries and the vandalism and uprooting of 21,508 trees, including 19,375 olive trees. Attacks continue in the West Bank through the burning of vehicles, homes, and land, and assaults on residents.
