One of the dead was killed in the parking lot of a maternity hospital that was hit in the attack, according to a report by Reuters news agency. According to the Ukrainian Air Force, 282 drones and other weapons were launched towards Ukraine, along with an unknown number of ballistic and hypersonic missiles. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote: "While people were sleeping, the flashes of explosions lit up the sky." He said that among the targets hit were residential buildings, a maternity hospital, energy infrastructure, and logistics facilities. Zelensky said the attack included three waves of ballistic missiles, and that about 60% of them were intercepted in the Kyiv area. He called on the United States to increase aid to Ukraine and provide additional interceptors against ballistic missiles. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that the front of the maternity hospital was damaged, as was a nearby medical center. In addition, nine houses, a post office, warehouses, and dozens of vehicles were damaged in several districts of the city. In Odesa, damage was also reported from Russian attacks during the night, including damage to a medical facility and shattered windows in nearby homes and a school.
