A man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of repeatedly harassing a well-known Israeli singer. According to the suspicion, he attended her performances, documented her, and even tried to meet her at the synagogue where she prays in Ashdod, despite a restraining order. Just hours after his conditional release, he showed up again at her performance, sat in the front row, and began documenting her, leading to his second arrest. In a court hearing, it was revealed that a 20-year hospitalization order had previously been issued for him. The judge ordered the district psychiatrist to conduct a preliminary evaluation of the suspect, addressing his fitness to stand trial and his responsibility for the acts, with special reference to the 2023 hospitalization order. His detention was extended until October 21, 2026.
