Shock in Ukraine: One-year-old killed in her stroller, mother dies in hospital

Angelina, aged one year and two months, was killed in her stroller, and her mother Inna Maryokhana died later in the hospital, in a Russian drone attack on the central park in the town of Nova Vodolaha, Kharkiv region. The attack, which occurred yesterday (Monday) around 4:30 PM, also killed an 11-year-old girl and wounded 15 people, including seven children. The local police chief, Yuri Yurchenko, said the drone circled the park several times before hitting a tree and falling on a path, claiming the strike was aimed at the people. Inna Maryokhana was an elementary school teacher, and the school published a notice of mourning for her death and her daughter's. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky condemned the attack, calling it "an act of absolute cruelty." Seven wounded remain hospitalized, including a six-year-old girl and a 12-year-old boy in serious condition. The police have opened an investigation on suspicion of a war crime.
