Jonathan Orich, an advisor to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, revealed that a few days after October 7, during a meeting with Channel 12 executives Avi Weiss and Guy Sudri at the Kirya, the two raised the possibility of bringing Yair Lapid into the government. According to him, he confronted them and the meeting ended in an explosion.
Jonathan Orich, one of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's close advisors, published today (Tuesday) on X a description of a meeting that took place, according to him, a few days after the October 7 massacre, between Netanyahu and Channel 12 executives Avi Weiss and Guy Sudri. According to his claim, the meeting ended in a sharp confrontation after the two raised before the Prime Minister the possibility of bringing Yesh Atid chairman Yair Lapid into the government. Orich said he was present at the meeting held at the Prime Minister's Office in the Kirya in Tel Aviv. According to him, Netanyahu presented to the two the security situation, the threat map, and Israel's planned courses of action following the terror attack. Orich described that one of the executives said to Netanyahu: "Why don't you bring the left into the government, call Lapid to the government!" and the other said: "Don't you think you should call Lapid?" Orich claimed he banged on the table and told them: "This is not the time for politics," and that the meeting exploded and they left the room. At the end of his post, Orich attacked the Channel 12 executives and claimed that even after three years, they remain identified with the left. He hinted that he intends to publish additional information about the event.
