Mothers of Syrian detainees in Israeli occupation prisons held a protest in front of the Syrian Foreign Ministry in Damascus, demanding disclosure of the fate of their sons who were arrested by Israeli occupation forces from their homes, and pressure for their release. During the protest on Sunday, the mothers called on Syrian authorities to assume their responsibilities and take urgent action to reveal the fate of the detainees, know their places of detention and their health and legal conditions, and work to secure communication between them and their families. The spokesperson for the families called on Syrian official bodies to take clear diplomatic steps for the release of all Syrian prisoners held by the Israeli occupation. One mother said her two sons, Ahmed and Muhammad, have been detained for a year and a month, without the family receiving any information about their fate. Another mother recounted her family's suffering due to the arrest of her twins, Muhammad and Mahmoud. The UN High Commissioner for Human Rights reported that at least 49 Syrians remain in detention in Israeli prisons. According to the "Sijil" center, Israel was holding 39 Syrians until the end of last September. The Commission documented about 280 incidents of armed Israeli incursions into Syria during last September alone.
