The office said in a statement on Tuesday that prisoners circulated news about the success of appeals filed in the files of a number of detainees classified as 'unlawful combatants', which sparked a state of joy within the sections. It added that repression forces stormed several sections after the news spread and assaulted prisoners with beatings and mistreatment. The office called on human rights and international institutions to urgently intervene to stop the repression and assaults against prisoners. According to Palestinian human rights organizations, about 9,600 Palestinians are held in occupation prisons, including 350 children and 90 women, amid reports of prisoners being subjected to harsh detention conditions.
