Posed as a buyer, went for a test drive – and fled with the luxury car
A 21-year-old Palestinian from the village of Beit Sira posed as a car buyer, went for a test drive with a luxury car owner near the Maccabim checkpoint, seized a moment when the owner got out of the car, and fled. He was arrested in a joint operation with the IDF, and an indictment was filed against him for car theft.
An indictment was filed against a Palestinian resident of the village of Beit Sira, aged 21, after he fled with a luxury car during a test drive. According to a police statement, the suspect arrived disguised as a buyer to meet the car owner near the Maccabim checkpoint. At the end of the test drive, he took advantage of the moment when the owner got out of the car and fled the scene. The investigation into the case was opened several months ago at the Modi'in Illit station in the Shomron district, after a report was received about the theft of a luxury car near Highway 443. In a joint operation with IDF forces from the Binyamin Brigade, the suspect was arrested and transferred to police investigation. At the conclusion of the investigation, an evidentiary basis was established, and he was charged with car theft. Police spokesperson stated that officers of the Judea and Samaria District will continue the determined fight against property crimes.
