"Political persecution campaign by the Attorney General": Investigation of Yitzhak Kroizer in Lahav 433 concluded
The investigation of MK Yitzhak Kroizer (Otzma Yehudit) in Lahav 433 has concluded. Kroizer attacked the Attorney General and the head of the Police Internal Investigations Department, calling the investigation a "political persecution campaign" and accusing them of trying to intimidate right-wing elected officials.
The investigation of MK Yitzhak Kroizer (Otzma Yehudit) by the Lahav 433 unit concluded this evening (Sunday). According to Kroizer, he fully cooperated with the investigators. He sharply attacked Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara and Police Internal Investigations Department head Boaz Blet, calling the investigation a "political persecution campaign" against right-wing elected officials. In his words, instead of investigating police officers who used violence against him, he was made a suspect. The investigation concerns an incident that occurred at the end of a memorial ceremony for IDF fallen soldiers, where, according to Kroizer, he approached to calm tensions but was beaten and sprayed with pepper spray by detectives. Law enforcement authorities are examining his role in the incident and the suspicion of interference with police work. His associates claim he was prevented from filing a complaint against the police officers with the Internal Investigations Department due to "instructions from above."
