An investigation by the American magazine Time, published on its front page, reveals documents and correspondence showing Israel's direct involvement in transferring nearly two billion dollars from Qatar to the Gaza Strip over more than a decade. According to the investigation, governments led by Benjamin Netanyahu not only approved the transfer of funds but also encouraged continued payments, participated in determining distribution mechanisms, and worked to maintain funding arrangements even when senior Israeli officials publicly criticized Qatar. One of the prominent documents is a letter sent in December 2020 by former Mossad chief Yossi Cohen to the Emir of Qatar, containing high praise for the humanitarian aid. Ynet previously revealed that Netanyahu was warned from 2019 that the Qatari money was reaching Hamas's military buildup, but he did not stop the transfer of funds. The investigation is based on official documents, letters, and conversations with Israeli, American, and diplomatic officials.
